My artwork presents concepts of repetition, deconstruction, transformation, interference, ephemeral art, and the exploration of concepts that are usually taken for granted: time, life experiences, objects, and memories. I mainly work on large-scale format or art installation, transcribing these abstract ideas into mark-making, patterns, and deconstructive drawing.
I explore the idea of how we make our time count in life. I began working with this idea by creating large-scale abstract compositions that focus on the concept of “making every second count.” Throughout my career, this evolved into a series of art installations presented outside of gallery spaces to dedicate art accessibility to areas that have limited access to art.
My work focuses on collaborative work with local communities to create community art installations, as well as work with local engineering students from the EM lab who work developing some of the most ambitious and revolutionary technologies happening today using the latest hybrid 3D printing techniques. With the purpose to promote and empower local accomplishments, and local talent that represents the community. Collaboratively I develop educational workshops and art installations that combine concepts of art with science, promote community participation, and belongingness.
As an artist, my goal is to create change through immersive interactive and community art installations and to make art accessible. Where members of the community from all backgrounds and demographics are able to enter a safe space where they feel free to express themselves, by taking selfies, write messages, or participate in creating a larger art piece.
